Virgin Atlantic unveils new Clubhouse at Newark

Virgin Atlantic has opened a new, larger Clubhouse at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, available for Upper Class and Flying Club Gold passengers.

The Newark Clubhouse features:

The Cocktail bar at the heart of the space with crystal features refracting natural light
The Passion Pit is a sunken lounge area where visitors can kick back, relax and even have a snooze
The Origami Lounge for those looking for a bit of privacy
The Liquid lounge for passengers to enjoy a few cocktails before jetting off

It is located airside, after the security checks in Terminal B and close to the gates.

Now you can name a new cancer drug after you. Only £1m

Money can buy anything, even a place in the medicine Hall of Fame. Academics at Uppsala university are offering private donors the chance to name an experimental cancer drug. So, anyone willing to donate £1m to fund their work can name the treatment for neuroendocrine cancer and enter in history. Of course, if the treatment will be a success.

Fundraisers hope to cover the £2m cost of a trial in up to 20 patients of a genetically modified common cold virus, designed specifically to fight cancer, reflecting growing scientific interest in the use of such viruses to combat the disease.

Japanese engineering firm Fasotec take a step forward in fetus photography: “Shape of an Angel,” a miniature 3D replica of the fetus as it lay in the womb. This 3D piece of memory is offered in partnership with Parkside Hiroo Ladies Clinic in Mintao-ku, Tokyo.

The cost for a single 90x60x40mm model is 100,000 yen (US $1,230), pretty much for this kind of memories.
