According to the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) this is the list of most expensive 10 American cities:

1. Manhattan, N.Y. (relocation expense: from $1,410 to $2,800)
2. Brooklyn, N.Y. (relocation expense: $2,480)
3. Honolulu.
4. San Francisco
5. Queens, N.Y.
6. San Jose, California
7. Stamford, Conn.
8. Truckee/Truckee-Nevada County, California
9. Washington, D.C.
10. Newport Beach/Orange County, California
