The exterior styling of this 110m concept embraces a pure and simple design language that delivers a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic. Subtle detailing uses a combination of crisp edges and soft flowing curves. Signature elements are repeated over the superstructure, highlighting the understated tailoring that unifies the concept.
Exterior deck areas are generous, the main aft deck incorporating a 7m infinity pool with a water wall feature to the swim platform below. Twin Jacuzzi’s, large sunbed areas and a circular bar provide ample space for day entertainment while the deck above provides a stylish lounge environment. This year, the average length of the superyachts at the Monaco show reaches 46.70 meters (Length overall) for 103 constructions exhibited. With 40 units, the 40/49.99-m segment is mostly represented, which is significant of the current market with an average length of 40 meters of yachts delivered and 47 meters for the yachts under construction.

The Maxi Dolphin, a boatyard founded in 1987 by Vittorio Moretti unveil at Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes two new yachts: MD51 Power BELLAVISTA and GT (Gran Turismo). Both models have two 435hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 engines that guarantees a higher top speed, greater acceleration and improved performances with an incredible increase in efficiency compared with inboard engine systems.
Also, both editions were entirely created using the Sprint technology to obtain extremely robust motor yachts of a contained weight that make it possible to install engines of a lower capacity to those normally used in yachts of this size, thus guaranteeing a notable reduction in consumption.
MD51 Power BELLAVISTA: The colours of the exterior are metallic, dark red and black. The deck is produced from finest teak while the cushions and the extremely comfortable sofa come in quilted leather in a sophisticated ivory colour.
The interior surfaces are in wood, in precious finishes and essences, painted in oyster white. The interior sofas are in soft leather, available in the variants
ivory 2024 or blue 2242. The floor will be in leather in the elegant shades of blue or natural hide, or in peppercorn Loro Piana Byron Plain fabric. A stunning white marble is used for the kitchen surfaces, a blend of tradition and innovation, while an elegant blue marble is used for the bathroom surfaces. The basins and handles are in brass.
From September 11 to 16, Couach Yachts will present exclusively at the 2012 Cannes Boat Show the new 5000 Fly La Pellegrina, a superyacht fully built in Glass Kevlar (hull and superstructure).
Weighing only 290T, this more rigid, more solid, lighter and then faster vessel, which is also the symbol of new dynamics engaged by the yacht-maker on the boating global market, is able to cruise in amazing comfort at 28 kts in heavy sea conditions.
The Couach 5000 FLY flagship is a real head turner: carbon reinforced, new generation engines: 2xMTU 5300 HP mounted in “free-standing”, transatlantic range (4000 nm @ 12 kts). It is a versatile yacht capable of reaching 30 kts top speed or cruising at an economical speed: 200L/hr@12kts.
500m² living space including a 75m² salon and a 52m² master suite. For the first time ever, the advantages of a composite construction: light, easy to manoeuvre, economical to maintain, fast, sturdy – and those of aluminium flagships: spacious, stable, comfortable – are brought together in a 50 metre yacht.
GT-40 H and GT-55 H from Imaginocean Yacht Design are two hybrid megayachts, which measure 131 feet (40 meters) and 180 feet (55 meters), respectively. The hybrid propulsion system should permit the GT-40 H and GT-55 H to top out at 20 knots, according to Imaginocean Yacht Design. When run solely on battery power, the megayachts should still make 8 knots.
Each of those two megayachts features folding balconies and bulwarks, plus a split-level saloon and main-deck masters.
61 metre Diamonds Are Forever is 61 metre is the largest yacht ever to be on display at the Plaisance de Cannes known as the Cannes Boat Show
“Diamonds Are Forever” is a megayacht by Benetti shipyard in Livorno. Benetti FB253 60mt is the boat’s official identification, but for its owner it’s “Diamonds Are Forever”: the official name of the yacht and the very personal signature of Mr. John Staluppi, an established shipowner who has always been a fan of the Bond, James Bond saga.
On board, customisation to meet the needs and desires of the shipowner is total: the particular arrangement of the cabins, the location of the wheelhouse on the flybridge, the interior design and decor, the engine room made entirely of stainless steel and the addition of the top deck above the flybridge, a private panoramic deck 12 metres above the sea which can be reached by the glass lift that serves all the yacht decks.
The Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes will be held from Tuesday 11th to Sunday 16th September 2012 in the Vieux Port and the Port Pierre Canto.
The Festival in figures:
173 vessels on show for the first time
181 boats more than 20m length
Trimaran Adastra, designed by John Shuttleworth, has recently been launched in China for a Hong Kong clients Anto and Elaine Marden.
“Adastra” is the result of more than 5 years of design and discussion with the owners, to build a yacht that meets the needs of a very experienced ocean voyaging couple and their family, and to provide the level of comfort and style that would be expected in a yacht of this class and size.
Adastra’s 16 metre beam creates a spacious saloon area on the main deck which offers superb views through a panoramic window and accommodates a lounge area, dining table, and navigation station. A forward facing door through the saloon window gives easy access to a large sunbed on the foredeck. The aft deck has a sofa and bar area to port and a dining area to starboard, further aft of this there is space for a 4.9 metre tender and directly below is a garage which can store a 3.1 metre tender. The garage door has been designed to fold out and create a large dive platform. Extra space has been created below deck by slightly flaring the central hull just above the waterline. This area has been split into two sections with a full-width master cabin located aft with access from the deck saloon, and two further guest cabins, accommodation for the crew, and the galley located forward of the engine compartment. Adastra offers comfortable accommodation for nine guests and up to six crew members. The main helm station, which has seating for two, is positioned in a raised pilot house situated between the aft deck and the saloon area and forms part of the cross beam structure.
The anchoring system is unique with 3 anchors all driven by carbon fibre drum winches run by hydraulics. The primary anchor is a custom 130kg Bruce style anchor that deploys out of the starboard wing. The second anchor is 80kg and deploys out of the bow with a carbon fibre arm. The third anchor is 60kg which deploys out of the port wing and will be used as a stern anchor.
