From my point of view Barcelona is the international capital of design and architecture. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain.
After several days of research and debate we decided that Mandarin Oriental is the best luxury hotel in Barcelona.
First is location: the property is ideally situated on Passeig de Gràcia, at the very centre of Barcelona’s commercial and entertainment district. It provides easy access to the city’s finest shopping, dining and cultural venues and is a short walk from many major tourist attractions (like Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter and two of the most celebrated buildings by the city’s famous architect, Gaudí).
Food: Under the direction of renowned Chef Carme Ruscalleda, Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona’s signature restaurant Moments was awarded its first Michelin star on its first anniversary. Ruscalleda is one of the few female chefs in the world to be awarded multiple Michelin stars.
Design: Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona has been designed as a stylish 98-room hotel by leading Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola and features contemporary, yet elegant interiors, with exacting attention to detail.
Rooms: Each of the hotel’s 98 rooms and suites has been individually furnished and decorated to embrace the best of the destination whilst adding a touch of Oriental flair. The luxurious guestrooms are amongst the largest in the city and include three spacious and exquisitely designed suites. All guest rooms and suites offer views over the hotel’s lush interior garden or Barcelona’s most stylish Passeig de Gràcia. A number of them even feature balconies or terraces from which to enjoy at the city buzz or admire the neighboring modernist façades.
Rates starting with $614/night for Deluxe Boulevard Room to $9,255/night for The Penthouse Suite.
