Maalifushi by COMO is the newest luxury resort in Maldives. As Cocoa Island by COMO is our Editor’s Choice luxury travel destination for August 2013, we have great expectations from this new resort.
Maalifushi by COMO will open in mid-November 2013 and it is an eight-hectare private island in the southerly Thaa Atoll (a 66 islands administrative division of the Maldives) and the resort features 66 luxury rooms (three expansive, two-bedroom overwater COMO Villas). Luxury suites and villas with private pools breathtaking views across the ocean. Interiors throughout the resort are by Japanese designer Koichiro Ikebuchi, with locally sourced materials, natural light and open vistas taking centre stage.
Once arrived in Maalifushi you can relax and admire white sands and bright turquoise lagoons. If you are adventurous step forward to join activities and excursions like dolphin cruises, fishing, snorkeling and sailing. Underwater, the Thaa Atoll boasts a range of unspoiled corals, attracting a whole host of colourful reef fish and sea creatures. Opportunities to spot magnificent Hammerhead and Whale Sharks also offer a rare environment for dive enthusiasts. The island’s pristine white sands and bright turquoise lagoons are neighbored by a string of uninhabited islands – perfect dashes of powdery sand and lolling palm trees – including another island belonging to the resort that can be booked for castaway picnics and romantic private dining.
Maalifushi by COMO prices:
Rates starting with USD 979.00 per night for Garden Room to USD 1,300.00 per night for Water Villa.
